The restoration of water supply in areas in Zone 1 which were interrupted due to maintenance work on the Bukit Badong, Hulu Selangor transmission main intake was 72 percent completed up to 4pm today.

According to a statement from Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (SYABAS), the scheduled restoration began at 9am, after the Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant Phase 1, 2 and 3 resumed full operations at midnight last night.

The restoration status in Zone 1 areas were 70 percent in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling (78 percent), Gombak (91 percent), Klang (14 percent), Kuala Langat (91 percent) and 80 percent in Kuala Selangor.

"All efforts are being taken to restore water supply in areas in Zone 1 which had not been restored fully," the statement said.

The delivery of water supply via tanker lorries to the affected areas in Zone 1 was also being carried out.

However, consumers who had yet to receive their water supply could seek assistance by sending SMS to 15300 by typing: TANKER <space> Name & Address.

According to the statement, consumers were advised to use water prudently to speed up the restoration of water supply to all affected areas.
