Annuar Musa must answer ‘silly’ royal allegations

YOURSAY | ‘Your dignity is at stake, so stop diverting and start responding.’

Not a sen from Mara went to K'tan team, Annuar refutes royal charge

KayL: Only a silly person would call serious allegations by a respected member of a royal family "silly arguments".

What a waste for Umno that Annuar Musa has been given the role as Umno information chief - he can't even distinguish between an allegation and an argument!

Annuar, the allegations that you had a role in the misappropriation of funds concern your honesty and dignity, and it is only appropriate that you respond to the allegations to clear your name.

The Analyser: Should Annuar answer the allegations? Unfortunately, the answer is yes. You do have to answer questions whether you think they are silly or not.

In fact, it is not within your area of responsibility to decide whether a question is silly or not. As a paid representative of the people of Malaysia, you are obliged to keep the public informed on your actions and decision-making processes

Tan Kim Keong: Annuar, don't try to divert the issue by trivialising Johor crown prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim's allegations as “silly arguments”.

These are not arguments at all. These are allegations that need to be responded to by you. These are allegations that have an impact on your integrity and honesty as a person holding high offices.

Your dignity is at stake, so stop diverting and start responding.

Anonymous #44199885: With due respect, the allegation is not silly but very serious as it involves the issue of prudent financial management of funds of educational institutions, which are primarily and should solely be used for education.

Sponsoring a state football club does not further the objectives of these institutions of higher learning and deprives these institutions of sorely needed funds during these lean times for the betterment of students welfare and the creation of more opportunities for the poor to get an education.

One ringgit spent on promotion and advertising, which does not translate to educating the students or helping them secure their future, is a ringgit gone to waste. This allegation must be answered.

Fairman: What is the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) doing? They should lodge a report based on media reports and start investigating Annuar for alleged abuse of public funds – that is, using government allocation for football.

MACC, don't only go after civil servants, go also after politicians as well. After all, both are public officials.

Anonymous #07451242: MACC, please step in. These are serious allegations by the prince, which ought to be investigated without the need to wait for a police report.

Ericomc: This is how some Umno ministers, when cornered, will resort to - by ridiculing the questions as well as the person asking questions.

Existential Turd: So, someone sponsored RM250,000 to emblazon Mara's logo on The Red Warriors (TRW) jerseys. Who was that individual?

Nobody sponsor anything without getting something in return. Annuar claims it is out of TRW's "respect" for Mara. That is a new excuse.

It appears that alleged corruption can be legitimised out of "respect".

Alex Raj: silly/ˈsɪlɪ/adjective -lier, -liest

1. lacking in good sense, absurd; 2. frivolous, trivial, or superficial; 3. feeble-minded; 4. dazed, as from a blow; 5. (obsolete) homely or humble noun; 6. (modifier) (cricket) (of a fielding position) near the batsman's wicket; silly mid-on; 7. (informal)

Also called silly-billy, (pl) -lies. a foolish person

Aminnudin Kadir: There's no such thing as silly questions; only silly answers.

Mara boss gets royal jab over 'forced sponsorship' for football team

Anonymous 24331438100949: MACC should take this statement very seriously as Annuar had misused his power using funds from UniKL to sponsor the Kelantan football team. This is a clear case of power abuse.

Mosquitobrain: Bingo! Earlier this week, Umno leader Annuar advised Mara officers to stay away from corrupt practices.

All Umno warlords are apparently treating public funds as their own. They will use public money for their own interests. Nothing new here.

They then suck public money into their own pockets - thanks to the decades of rotten Umno culture of corruption. They are no longer able to see anything wrong with what they do.

The Analyser: This could be a golden opportunity for Bersatu Youth leader Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman to make his mark on Malaysian society.

But all we have heard from him are complaints, racism, Islamic ideology and nothing else. Where is the idealism of youth? What sort of vision does this young man have for the future?

It’s going to take more than a fancy wordsmith and a good debater to change the face of Malaysia. One would have thought that as a good debater, Syed might have some concept of the need to plan ahead and strategise.

But seemingly his association with the evil old man has quashed all his youthful enthusiasm and imagination.

Shunyata: Syed Saddiq, you should have omitted the "especially Malay students" part from your argument. Your argument would have been perfect if so.

Anonymous 2441811478183768: If you can't shake MO1 (Malaysian Official 1), forget about moving his stalwarts.
