Chinese DPM poser

Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad claimed his words were “twisted” in reports quoting him as saying that DAP had asked for the deputy prime minister position.

Instead, Mahathir said it was MCA that had asked for the position from Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak in 2009.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Abdul Rahman Dahlan said his argument against DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng becoming deputy prime minister was not racist.

‘Statesman’ Najib

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak said he wanted to prepare the next generation under his Transformasi Nasional 50 (TN50) slogan as it was something a statesman would do.

DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang shrugged off Najib’s TN50, claiming that Malaysia was already world renown for being a kleptocracy.

Billionaire Jho Low’s family members were allowed to replace the trustee of their assets in a bid to a fight off the US’ attempt to seize their assets allegedly acquired using 1MDB-linked money.

The Putrajaya Magistrate’s Court granted a six-day remand order against the chief executive officer of a government-linked company for allegedly being involved in graft in relation to an e-passport project.

PM and Dr M weigh in on Forest City

Dr Mahathir defended his criticism against the Forest City project, stating that he was not against investment but mass immigration as China nationals are expected to set up residence there in large numbers.

Najib defended the project, stating that Forest City can emulate Dubai’s success and denied that China nationals would be granted citizenship.

Najib added that he no longer referred to Mahathir as “Tun” and instead called him “U-turn Mahathir”.
