Orang Asli blockade set ablaze

An anti-logging blockade set up by the Orang Asli community in Gua Musang was again demolished using bulldozers and was later set ablaze.

Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos, who was arrested for gang robbery, was released ahead of the expiry of his five-day remand.

Umno Youth urged the setting up of a royal commission of inquiry into Bank Negara Malaysia’s foreign exchange (forex) losses when Dr Mahathir Mohamad was prime minister.

‘Racial twist in FT proposal’

DAP MPs lodged a police report against Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor for proposing that Penang be turned into a federal territory to help Malays who he alleged were neglected by the state government.

Responding to the police report, Tengku Adnan claimed he said all races were sidelined in Penang.

Gerakan criticised Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s ‘I Love Penang’ campaign in response to Tengku Adnan, stating that loving Penang should not only come when it is politically convenient.

PKR’s Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar asked if Kuala Lumpur will get a referendum to decide whether its people want to come under federal control in light of Tengku Adnan’s proposal for Penang.

Attempts to break up Harapan

Parti Amanah Negara communications director Khalid Samad claimed PAS was attempting to break up Pakatan Harapan when it asked PKR and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia to abandon the coalition.

PAS’ Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar claimed Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak is trying to shape perception of Umno-PAS unity.

PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali urged opposition leaders to show humility as the opposition coalition needs to be inclusive.

The Royal Selangor Club denied it faced political pressure to disallow its venue from being used for the ‘Save Malaysia’ roundtable session.
