Sultans take aim at politicians

Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ismail Iskandar launched a thinly-veiled attack on former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, describing him as "amnesiac", "a little senile" and telling him to butt out of Johor affairs.

The ruler also took aim at Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor for proposing the creation of more federal territories, calling him "not so smart". without naming him.

Communications and Multimedia Minister Salleh Said Keruak said Mahathir should heed the monarch's dressing down of him.

Selangor ruler Sultan Sharifuddin Idris Shah expressed disapproval over the misuse of hearses managed by mosque committees in the state.

Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos, who had used the hearses for a protest, said previous rules were not clear and that following the royal decree, it would not happen again.

Backlash against N Korea

Anti-North Korea sentiment mounted, with PKR Youth urging the expulsion of North Korean diplomats following their undiplomatic language against Malaysia over the Kim Jong-nam assassination.

BN Youth also protested outside the North Korean embassy and called for a review of diplomatic ties.

Tourism Minister Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz also advised Malaysians against travelling to North Korea, warning that they could do "unimaginable things".

This was amid fresh North Korean accusations against Malaysia, this time accusing the latter of being responsible for Jong-nam's death.

Reuters, quoting sources, said Malaysia is mooting expelling North Korean diplomats.

Jong-nam's family to arrive

Deputy inspector-general of police Noor Rashid Ibrahim said Jong-nam's next-of-kin will arrive in Malaysia soon.

Inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar noted that North Korean diplomats have diplomatic immunity but wants the embassy to cooperate so that police can question one of its staff.

The diplomat reportedly sent off four North Korean suspects wanted by cops at the airport.

Khalid also denied that Malaysian police are in Macau to obtain Jong-nam's DNA sample from his family.
