Former Paya Jaras assemblyperson Saidin Tamby died of various complications including pneumonia and stomach bleeding at the Selayang Hospital today.

He was 81.

Saidin, who died at 9.45am, was admitted to the hospital on Thursday after he suffered breathing difficulty, said his third child, Mohd Marwan when contacted by Bernama in Kuala Lumpur today.

He said the deceased would be buried at the Batu Muda Muslim Cemetery in Batu Caves at 4pm.

Saidin served as the assemblyperson from 1986 to 1999. He was also Selangor state assembly speaker from 1982 to 1990.

Saidin is survived by his wife, Maimunah Mohd Shafie and four children, namely Mahizun, Mayziun, Mohd Marwan and Maznun.
