MAHB man remanded in beauty product case released

A senior officer of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) who was remanded for investigation into abuse of power involving RM80,000 to pay for skin beauty treatment and a slimming programme was ordered to be released by the Magistrate's Court here today.

Magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tasnim Wan Ab Rahman ordered the officer to be released on a bail of RM40,000 in one surety.

The man was in remand for four days since last Thursday following an application by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for investigation under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009.

He was alleged to have misused a corporate credit card provided by MAHB by using it for purposes other than those stipulated in the interest contract.

It is understood that the credit card was given to eligible officers for official use as outlined in the company's standard operating procedures (SOP).
