Dr M vs Nazri in Padang Rengas

Arrangements are being made to hold a debate between Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Umno minister Nazri Abdul Aziz in the minister's parliamentary constituency of Padang Rengas, Perak, said an aide to the former premier.

Nazri had earlier accepted Mahathir's challenge to a debate on 1MDB and the RM2.6 billion issues, among others, though he left it to the ex-premier to decide on the details.

"My participation is unconditional except to discuss the date with me. The rest is up to Mahathir," he said.

Johor Menteri Besar Khaled Nordin had pledged the state government's full cooperation with regard to the corruption probe.

The Johor palace would not interfere with any investigations in the state, said Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar. "The palace does not interfere nor does it protect anyone," he was quoted as saying by The Star.

Cops say it's Jong-nam

China hoped that the crisis between Malaysia and North Korea stemming from the murder of Jong-nam would be resolved amicably.

Meanwhile, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) postponed the match between Malaysia and North Korea following the diplomatic row.

The Asia Cup 2019 qualification match was supposed to take place at Stadium Kim Il-sung in Pyongyang on March 28.
