Kedah Umno liaison committee chairperson Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah has warned PKR deputy president Azmin Ali to stay away from politics in Kedah or Kedah Umno and look after his own turf instead.

Ahmad Bashah said Azmin's statement on a change in the menteri besar between him and Mukhriz Mahathir last year would lead to a shift in votes to Pakatan Harapan in the 14th general election, as an effort to divert the people's attention.

"He gave the statement merely to shift focus from his own problems as he himself was also embroiled in the Selangor menteri besar crisis with Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

"So we should not be minding other people's business because after all, they have quit Umno and have no spirit to fight for the party," he told reporters after the opening ceremony of the Islamic Civilisation Education Fair, Artifacts of Prophet Muhammad and his Companions in Alor Setar yesterday.

The Kedah menteri besar was asked to comment on a news report in which Azmin said the Kedah MB crisis would contribute to votes going to Pakatan Harapan in the 14th general election.
