Bakri Umno division vice-chief Mohamed Mustafa Abdul Kadir today pleaded not guilty to using methamphetamine in August last year.

Mohamed Mustafa, 57, has a 'Datuk' title and was charged at the Ayer Keroh Magistrate's Court today.

He faces a charge under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. If found guilty, he faces a maximum two year jail term, a maximum RM5,000 fine or both.

The court granted RM2,000 bail with one surety and set April 27 for mention.

Defence lawyer Salmi Hamdan Sabran had argued for a low bail amount on grounds that the accused had been cooperative throughout the investigation.
