He should also apologise to his wife, to Batu Gajah MP Fong Po Kuan and to all women in the country for his recent sexist comments in Parliament.
On Cabinet must address sexist, racist conduct
MRP: I read with great horror and disbelief as to how someone like Datuk Bung Mokhtar Raden seems to get away with a lot things that are either racist or sexist in Parliament. He should not only apologise to YB Fong Poh Kuan and all women in this country but also to his wife and mother as well.
The prime minister will do good if he does not allow someone like Bung Mokhtar Raden to stand for election again in Kinabatangan.
If he still stands in the coming general elections, I pray to God that the voters of Kinabatangan will 'buang' Mokhtar Raden from Kinabatangaan. Malaysia does not need a lawmaker such as him as he only brings shame to us.
Juliana Lim: I am very appalled and even angry at the sexist language used by the two MPs Dato' Bung Mokhtar Radin and Dato' Mohd Said Yusof on the MP for Batu Gajah Fong Poh Kuan.
I am a woman myself and their 'no class' remarks hits at every female. As said by others, they paid no heed that they also have women in their lives - mothers, sisters, wives and daughters.
Such let-down MPs are deplorable. They cannot differentiate a joke from an insult.
Yee: These two men have had a history of vulgarity and crudity. It has been shown that there is little between their ears. Their constituencies and the rakyat as a whole must speak in no uncertain terms against such behaviour.
Do not vote them in again for the sake of Malaysia.
Disturbed Malaysian Taxpayer: Please get these two jokers in Parliament to tell the same thing to their mothers, sisters , daughters and even their girlfriends. Later, let them report their 'findings' back to the Parliament as to how happy their 'subjects' were.
On MIC president: Indians will always vote BN
KSN: Please convey my congratulations to YB S Samy Vellu. He and his MIC gangsters have gone through their annual ritual for 2007, ie, passing resolutions at their assembly and "speaking to the PM". Samy has done what he has been doing for the last 25 years for the improvement of the Indian community.
To repeat, passing resolutions and speaking to the PM.
The MIC resolutions will remain resolutions as in the past unlike Umno resolutions which are automatically legislation. All the problems facing the community, to list a few, unemployment, lack of skills to make a decent living without having to resort to violence, social issues like alcoholism, economic regression in term of equity, are all the result of MIC's 'resolutions' and Samy's speaking to the PM.
He spoke to Dr M for 23 years and finally, by his own admission, he admitted Dr M did nothing for the Indians. The whole country knows and admits the deplorable state of affairs of the Indians in Malaysia, all achieved under BN and MIC.
Congratulations to both on behalf of the community!
On Samy has done a lot for the community
Aeseop: Let me go staright to the point, what the writer wrote is all words and not a single fact. In other words, it is just talk.
Let's see some figures on how the Indians in the country improved economially since Samy Vellu took over compared to others and what firm policies he has created in his party to change the Indians' plight in this country.
The writer's observations could only be personal and cannot hold water.
On Tan: Make public results of RM22m inspection
Dr NKS: The checks for defects will cost RM22 million, said Samy and this made my eyes roll backwards, because all of us know where most of the cash is going. Why would it cost so much just for an inspection of the government buildings in Putrajaya?
No doubt, another proposal will be submitted to the cabinet soon after for perhaps another RM22 million to foot the bill for all the repairs of the defects. Shouldn't the Works Ministry have appointed better construction companies with good track records when it comes to the quality of buildings?
Now I know that the government has agreed to a pay rise for government servants. It is so they can increase their tax revenue to foot idiotic bills like checking for defects in buildings barely five years old? Kudos.
On PSD on retirement age: Not 60 specifically
Concerned Non-Economist: But please, no pay rise for civil servants. Combined with the RM200 billion bill for 9MP, this country will run a deficit budget for at least another eight to 10 years. With that, we will join other Asian and African countries that have been running budget deficits since independence.
What the economy needs is a strong dose of a debt diet. The cost of running of the government and doing business must be reduced. This means no more fat consultant fees for government projects and reduction of 'fat' in the government. We must spend our ringgit wisely and not pour it into projects and GLCs that destroy money.
Those savings must then be put in the hands of individual citizens to allow them the propensity to save and invest. At the rate the government is investing in the economy, we are beginning looking more and more like a socialist economy.
On Is there life for the opposition after Ijok?
Ratormo: I was just wondering if it would be possible (legally and technically) to set up a fund for the opposition to use in the coming general elections. BN can win due to its massive war chest (provided by the cronies after emptying the national coffers).
The rakyat needs to help the opposition put a significant number of MPs in Parliament as a counter weight and to prevent it from becoming a circus and an embarrassment to the country.
Can this be done anonymously? Just a thought.
