"We want to be the first in the world to proclaim this - that 2009 will be the year of independent music," said Voize's editor Siva Chandran at the launch of the new tagline for Indie bands around Asia.
The tagline will also be Voize.my's new motto."We believe there is an incredible amount of talented local and Asian independent acts to make 2009 perhaps the most exciting year for music in Asia," he added.
"And I dare say that Malaysia can become the main hub from which the most exciting and innovative independent music will be conceived".
New logo
Siva also unveiled a new logo which he said was in the spirit of independent music.
"Yeah... it's an edgy sort of logo - something cool and hip that would go down well with the spirit of Indie.
"In fact, we were inspired to launch this logo after marathon meetings with local indie acts, Pop Shuvit and Malique who inspired us to come forth with this bold statement," he said.
