The MACC has arrested a former Johor MP over allegations of receiving bribes totalling RM230,000 in exchange for a Felda-linked project.

According to a source, the former lawmaker was arrested at the MACC's headquarters in Putrajaya this afternoon.

The former MP, who carries the honorific title of 'datuk' and who previously sat on Felda's board of directors, is expected to be charged in Johor Bahru tomorrow.

The source said the 'datuk' used his position in the agency to propose and approve the appointment of a printing company which he has interest in to print the 1Suara newsletter from 2012 to 2015.

The project is believed to be valued at RM13 million.

In exchange, the source said, the ex-lawmaker received RM50,000 in cash in 2013.

He is said to have received a plot of land in Kota Tinggi valued at RM180,000 the following year.
