Ku Nan: KL folk need to be wary of protesters’ agenda

Kuala Lumpur residents are advised to be wary of the agenda of organisers of the planned illegal gatherings and street protests in the city.

Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, who gave this advice, believes that these protest organisers are out to divide the people.

“I ask that the public not follow these protest masterminds who are mostly outsiders fond of organising street demonstrations, as such action would only damage our city,” he told reporters at the ministry's Aidilfitri open house in Kuala Lumpur today.

He was referring to the planned holding of the Bersih 4 illegal gatherings in the federal capital on Aug 29 and 30.

Tengku Adnan also urged the public to assist the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, which he said was always willing to listen to their wants.

“There’s no point for you all to go to the street, come forward and tell us what to do for you and we will try to accommodate as much as possible. We will listen to the public.

“There will be a lot of changes, believe us, and these changes are for the good of the people,” he said.
