After Universiti Malaya (UM) clarified in a statement yesterday, that it never issued an honorary doctorate to marketing guru Azizan Osman, two more have followed in the public educational institution's footstep.

As reported by Malay daily Berita Harian, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) has denied that Azizan was awarded a PhD in psychology as depicted on his website.

A spokesperson from the university told the daily that Azizan's name is not listed in the university's list of PhD awardees.

Meanwhile, Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL) also released a statement that it never issued a Master's Degree in business administration and PhD to Azizan.

"IUKL confirms that it never awarded both degrees to Azizan Osman," read the university's statement today.

Yesterday, Azizan said he will be seeking clarification after UM denied it had granted him an honorary doctorate.

“We would like to inform that we take this matter seriously. We have seeked (sic) further clarification and the outcome of the inquiry will be communicated once the process has run its course,” he said through a statement released through his company Rickworks International Sdn Bhd.

The statement was also published on Azizan’s Facebook page.
