IGP: Terror attack planned during Saudi king's visit thwarted

Police foiled an attempt by Islamic State (IS) operatives in the country to carry out an attack during a visit by Saudi King Salman Abdulaziz Al-Saud to Kuala Lumpur last week.

Inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar said the seven suspects - four Yemenis, an Indonesian and two locals, were arrested between Feb 21 and 26 by Bukit Aman Special Branch's Counter-Terrorism division.

According to Khalid, the men were planning to attack the Arab royalty and his entourage in the city.
