On March 19 last year, even before one single East Malaysian BN leader could speak up, I wrote a letter Cabinet: East Malaysians left out again .
After 50 years of independence, there is yet to be one significant minister of East Malaysian origin who has been prime minister, deputy prime minister, finance minister or any ministerial function from which he has created an impact on the history of this nation.
Was it not agreed during the formation of Malaysia that the country would be secular, with Islam as the national religion? If it was secular, did that not mean that the prime minister could be a Dayak?
Yes, he can be one even today but according to Umno he has to be a Muslim. Was that agreed upon to or were East Malaysians fooled? Today, if the East Malaysians pull their support out of the BN government, Pakatan Rakyat will come home with a thumping majority.
The question is, should they be allowed to?
Amongst the issues to consider is that PKR a very young opposition coalition incapable of leading this country at this point. They lack the experience of political office one would say and I agree on that score.
At a time like this when we are in the midst of a global financial meltdown what options do we have. Won't placing Pakatan in power be too risky at this point?
Well, on the other hand, you have Anwar Ibrahim who was a very successful finance minister in the past who would be able to handle that position again. He would also be the best man for the position of PM.
The Pakatan Rakyat line-up is also made up of thinking politicians, whereas the BN has doubtful personalties in the likes of Syed Hamid Albar, Reezal Merican etc.
What you have now is a questionable person hanging out there in the corridors of powers and the country’s top position being handed to him on a golden platter as we all helplessly watch.
Do not expect the Umno delagates to tell him that he can't be PM but if they do, I may just change my allegiance to Umno.
East Malaysia must arise, I tell you, you are as much us as we are you. You have contributed significantly to the Malaysian economy with the oil, the pepper, the palm oil and the timber but only to make a handful of greedy politicians rich while you are left improvished.
Had Bakun gone the way it was planned, the persons who were awarded the contract to clear the jungle would have become a millionaires just by sitting down in their offices without even lifting a finger. Billionaires would be more accurate and for what? For raping your natural resources.
Even the little you have has been given to the illegal immigrants and as they have been made citizens, they are now ready to take away your entitlement of the wealth of the nation.
You are not entitled to ancestral land when you are in fact natives in your own land whilst the Malays in West Malaysia are entitled to Malay reserve land. The ethnic natives in East Malaysia like the Dayaks, the Ibans, the Penans, the Kadazaans, the Bidayu etc are not entitled to your native land.
East Malaysia, the country depends on you to stand up and we need to think as one. The Malays in the west are ready to stand up with you - not the Umno Malays - but the rest of the Malays together with the Chinese and the Indians .
We are all one people with pride and purpose and we have a duty to save this our beloved country of ours. We have to take back this country from the thieves who now have taken it, we have to save it from the greed of Umno.
Come on and take the lead and we'll all be free. We shall overcome all odds together and as one people we shall sing, ‘Malaysia Kita Berjaya’. That is how it should be so let this song ring through every corridor across the nation as all Malaysians unite under Pakatan and win.
Let this message go to Batang Ai and let history begin at Batang Ai. Then let that song be the death knell of the BN and all its crooked and corrupt policies.
