I refer to Malaysiakini report Hot rhetoric and Pakatan bashing.

Yes, Pakatan Rakyat is a threat - not to the rakyat or nation but to Umno only. Therefore, Umno plays the race game to convince the Malays that their future is in jeopardy and they may even lose their identity.

It seems, the other races will take away your rights and privileges if the Malays do not continue to show their loyalty to Umno and give it the full mandate to represent the Malays.

This Umno general assembly saw a lot of dramatic events just to arouse passion and patriotism using race and religion while at the same time being an exhibition of a show of force and dominance.

‘We are in control and no one should even raise a question as we are the law and we are always right’ is the slogan seen to be used by Umno.

What is plainly disgusting is calling another person a ‘traitor’ just because he wants to bring about change for a better future for everyone. Pakatan does not ride on racial sentimentsor blind loyalty or use religion to move emotions.

Pakatan promises good governance and a fair deal for everyone while respecting the existing status quo.

I, for one, certainly feel that the Malays are not fooled or deceived by all this brinkmanship and compassionate pleas which has been the style of play of late just to stay in power and enrich a selected few. You can fool some of the people some of the time and some of the people all the time but you cannot fool all the people all the time.

We are at a very crucial period of our political future and we have to determine if our future should continue along racial lines or as a nation that sees each another as a vital part in nation- building and prosperity.

A paradigm shift in our thinking has to occur - from indoctrination emphasising racial segregation to one that gladly accepts each another as a fellow citizen and part and parcel of our society.

The founding fathers had a strong vision of a united nation but sadly today, we are seen to be far from being united. The new vision of Umno and the direction they are pursuing appears to be, ‘money, money, money’.

The Umno elections have seen a big rise in money politics and it seems the leaders are only interested in power, position and status. There appears to be an insatiable greed to wrest and gain power at any cost. It does not matter anymore if one's integrity is suspect or dubious.

The emotional speeches and rhetoric clearly show that Umno leaders have lost focus on what they are supposed to do and what is demanded of their position.

Umno has still not learnt its lesson and continues to harp on the issues which brought upon them the humiliating loss of the last general election. They have to face the reality that their support and popularity have drastically deteriorated and will continue if they are not willing to amend their ways.

The same fate will befall all other BN component parties especially the MIC. Continue to taunt and ridicule the rakyat and you will face your own political demise.
