Astro has always been more concerned with profit rather than meeting the needs of its subscribers. But it has to be said that the Tamil channels are the worst treated.

Tamil films shown are frequently repeated. To make matters worse, the films shown on Channel 202 are shown again on Channel 211 - sometimes the very next week.

Regional Indian films such as Malayalam and Telegu do not always carry sub titles. This is also true of other programmes in these languages.

The same is true of the Hindi Channel; the films and the other programmes more often than not do not carry sub titles at all.

I thought it was mandatory for films to at least carry Bahasa Malaysia subtitles?

Information on programmes for the above channel is not always available. The printed programme for example does not state what movies are to be shown.

It is stated baldly as 'movie'. The reason why we subscribe is to get proper information of the shows to be screened.

The on screen channel guide is often not available for Tamil Channels. Astro, stop short-changing your Indian viewers!

The unkindest cut by Astro is to bar senior citizens from taking part in contests organised by it.

Currently Channel 201is running a contest for home viewers as part of its game show, Vetaiadu vilaiyadu .

It is only open to contestants aged 18 to 60. Such discrimination against senior citizens is unwarranted.

Astro is obviously unaware of the concept of a caring society or of being socially responsible.
