There is something very wrong with ministers and Federal leaders of our country. They behave in a manner that is creating utter contempt for them among the populace.
They assume Malaysians are uneducated, blind and stupid. Of late the government has made dirty blatant political moves and put a spin on it.
I wonder if the information minister and his other cabinet colleagues are outdated and think we still live in the pre-Internet days.
For example, it was obvious to the entire population that the cow-head instigators had a political agenda and were not mere residents protesting.
It is also obvious to most Malaysians that there is a political agenda in the ongoing investigations on the Selangor Aduns' use of state allocated funds.
Why no hurry to prosecute the RM12 billion lost in PKFZ and Khir Toyol's mansion, or the use of Selangor state funds by outgoing Aduns prior to March 2008?
It is also obvious to the Malaysian people that the intimidation of Malaysiakini by MCMC officers is a political move to try to cover up their folly.
It was also obvious to the Malaysian people of Umno's hand in the circulation of Elizabeth Wong's pictures.
It is also obvious to the Malaysian people that there is an attempt to silence opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim and blogger Raja Petra for the headaches they have been giving the BN government.
To think we will swallow all that, hook and sinker, is insulting our intelligence and the more they spin, the more furious the public gets.
It is best to just concentrate on governing and repairing the economy, curbing H1N1, reforming the education system and bringing some semblance of sanity back into Malaysian life.
So you see, Mr Rais, you cannot treat people like idiots and expect them to love you.
In Malaysia we can be gagged to a certain extent but in other countries they protest with flag burning and stone throwing.
You show disrespect and insensitivity and this is the reaction you get. It is time the federal cabinet ministers learn this valuable lesson.
Rais Yatim's comments for example shows he can dish it but can't take it.
"We should not turn this into a political issue, something which can destroy the cordial relations between Malaysia and Indonesia," he said.
Rais said he was convinced that the people of both countries harboured hopes of continuing to live peacefully.
"One dance, for example, which was broadcast over television abroad does not mean that we should burn flags and hurl stones.
"If this were to continue, the West will see us, in the east, as having a way of life not founded on substantive elements which allow us to engage in discussions," he said.
Western civilisation has already seen Malaysia for what it is with the cow-head protest and the death of a young political aide in MACC custody and RM12 billion squandered on a failed BN project. It is falling apart.
