First helicopters, then submarines, now an F1 team? How people draft plans to consume billions so fast nowadays seem so predictable..

Is an F1 team so important to us now? We all know that even top teams have or are considering pulling out of the F1 tournaments due to exorbitant costs. Billions go down the drain, and even well-performing teams find it difficult to maintain the team, find sponsors and survive in the tournament year after year.

How do you think this team is going to fare?

It doesn't just involve two cars, two drivers and a dozen mechanics. Millions will be used up on planning and set up alone. Air tunnels, test circuits, equipments, certifications, licences are just part of the costs incurred. And all this to prove what? Proton is better than Ferrari?

I predict this will all just be hype. Midway through, after millions have gone down the drain, or into several pockets, they will call off the project saying it’s too early or it’s too expensive or such.

We in Malaysia have bigger things to invest on and prove to the world. A better education system is a good example. How do our universities rank in the world, or at the very least, Southeast Asia?

The people who are pushing for this project are either not far-sighted enough or they have their own personal agendas in mind.
