I was puzzled by the Tenaga Nasional move to submit a new electricity tariff which most probably will move into a higher end than the current rate.

Can the government start to revamp TNB’s management as I think they are incapable of improving their efficiency and are rather keen on passing on their inefficiencies to the rakyat.

I have 10 people living in my house and the rate I am paying is RM600 per month just because of TNB management’s inefficiencies.

Can TNB look into giving some rebate for households with more people on the total bill amount? Why give free electricity for households with which consume less than RM20?

TNB is robbing from people like me who are not very rich and giving it to others who may not deserve it. I have to carry all the responsibility on my shoulder.

I am also proposing to have three or four electricity suppliers in addition to TNB. This will allow the people to chose the electricity supplier they want. This is the only way to reduce TNB’s inefficiencies.

See the example from AirAsia. AirAsia started to offer low-cost fares and the competition from them forced MAS into a better efficiency compared to previously.

If the government approves this new increased electricity tariff, I will make sure to vote for the opposition in the future to change this government which cannot decide on how to protect the rakyat.
