Since the underground pipe along the main road at Jalan 11/6, Petaling Jaya burst about 10 days ago, residents in the neighbourhood (Lorong 11/6C and along Jalan 11/6) have experienced water cuts and pressure problems.
As a result, residents in the area are not getting enough water supply for their daily chores. More so now as it is the school holidays and the Christmas festive season. It makes it difficult for the Christians in the area to celebrate.
Residents have been unable to wash clothes, bathe and use water for cooking. The inconvenience has forced the residents to undergo tremendous difficulties. Old folk who live in the area and who are without maids, have to carry their own heavy buckets of water.
Due to the water problems, the residents are going to work late and this has reduced man hours and productivity at their offices.
I hope Puas will be able to restore water supply along Lorong 11/6C as soon as possible and that water pressure will be restored to the previous level as it was before the main pipe burst.
When we complain of the low water pressure, PUAS ‘hotline’ staff tell us that the pressure cannot be increased because of pipes in the area would then burst.
Some of the staff even have the audacity to say that the internal piping in the houses could be the problem. Actually, the stituation is worse adfter we were reqested by Puas to change our internal piping.
The water could not go up to the tank on the roof top. Only when the pressure had built up did the water go up automatically.
Puas staff should not jump to conclusions and instead respond to complaints properly with an effort to help the poor residents regain their water supply.
Especially when Puas’ parent company, Syabas’ client charter states that it is ‘committed to providing excellent services’ to the customer.
Please get the water flowing with adequate pressure to the Section 11 residents of Petaling Jaya.
