I refer to the Malaysiakini report 'Allah' row: Dr M says law cannot solve it.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad has, predictably, come out to advise executive action to restrict the use of the term ‘Allah’ word to Muslims only. As has the Utusan Malaysia which sees the 72% Muslim population threatened.

These heroes want a show of force to assert their authority. Mahathir says the Muslims will be ‘confused’. Obviously though, not him. Neither, it is reported, are Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, Deputy Prime Minister Muhiyiddin Yassin and Home Minister Hishamuddin Hussein Onn,.

Why, then, don’t these enlightened souls clarify the matter to the rest of the Muslims? Why not show them the brave new world outside?

After all, if their ‘confusion’ is not cleared, surely these ‘confused’ Muslims are the losers and these enlightened souls are not helping their brethren.

And, Utusan, if the vast majority of the country can be in danger by other communities using the ‘A term’ for God, surely it is your role to strengthen their weak minds?

I get the feeling these ‘fright-mongers’ are only interested in showing heroics in a contrived ‘crisis’ scenario.

If this matter had been left alone, the non-Muslims would not even have bothered to consider the term ‘Allah’ for God. Almost all major religions predate Islam and we have our own names for God.

By creating this issue and pretending non-Muslims want to use the ‘Allah’ term, the bigots are waging an imagined crusade. Shun them.

On the other hand, if the nation continues to ignore these hate and war-mongers, we will show that we are maturing as a nation, dinosaurs notwithstanding.
