I refer to Malaysiakini report PAS, DAP stand by Pakatan as PKR rocked by defections .

In a time of crisis, that is the time that you can find out who are your true friends or fair weather friends. In politics, the same principle applies also. Thus, DAP’s and PAS’s clear statements that they will not back out of the Pakatan Rakyat coalition is welcomed by the parties’ supporters.

PKR should be grateful that one by one, their problematic state assemblypersons and members of Parliament are quitting the party now in order for PKR to move forward stronger and more wiser. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

It is really a blessing in disguise to PKR to have their internal problems aired out in public and those who are rumored to be following the footsteps of the lawmakers who already left should not be stopped from doing so. It is about time for Anwar Ibrahim, the de facto opposition leader to put his foot down and sack the renegades from the party before they cause more problems which can only erode public support.

The ground seems to have shifted against PKR with two of their MPs resigning from the party and if rumors are to be believed, several more MPs will follow suit. However, the DAP strongman, Lim Kit Siang’s assurance that Anwar can still remain the opposition leader in parliament speaks volumes of the solidarity of the opposition front.

It is back to the drawing board for PKR now to reorganise the party to be on a better footing and make sure that future candidates for their federal and state seats are made up of people from impeccable backgrounds who are not there for money and positions. Without PKR pulling its own weight, it will only cause problems for their partners DAP and PAS when fighting the BN political machinery.

Pull up your socks PKR, you need to get your house in order first. Clean up your act failing which the unforgiving local voters might not give you a second chance to form the next federal government to replace the present BN regime.

Nevertheless, what is written in the mainstream newspapers on the ‘breakup’ of the opposition front due to the defections of few minion MPs will not influence the educated voters.

The list of sins committed by our government leaders are very difficult to forgive and forget. Malaysians have waited for so long for changes to occur in our political scene and while Pakatan Rakyat have had minor hiccups here and there, it is still a good alternatives to replace the present regime who think it is their destiny to rule the country forever.

Let’s show them to the door in order for our younger genaration to have a better future rather than living perpetually on the edge of darkness.
