We refer to the letter 'How dare you PTPTN guys send me a warning...' and would like to than k the writer.

We wish to advise the borrower that the implementation of repayment exemption will only be given to recipients of first class degrees whose loans have been approved prior to July 1, 2005 or those who completed their studies on Jan 1 2010 onwards.

This is as announced in the 2010 Budget. The claimant’s sister, therefore, cannot be considered for the exemption as she does not fall in either of the above categories.

On the reduction of the administrative cost, we acknowledge that due to technical limitations and system readiness, we have not been able to implement it immediately upon the government’s announcement.

We apologise for this delay. We have deployed our resources and taken all the necessary actions to ensure the implementation will take effect the soonest possible.

The offering of ‘Ujrah’ to eligible borrowers will be implemented in phases. A pilot run will be implemented at the end of September 2010, for loan balance as at June 1, 2008. We will advise all the borrowers via the mass media, on the full procedures and processes of the ‘Ujrah’ offering.

Borrowers can also check and get further information from our website . Until such time, we kindly request all borrowers to make repayments as usual as indicated in the existing repayment schedule.

Upon completion of the ‘Ujrah’ offering process, any excess payment prior to the implementation will be adjusted accordingly to the existing borrowers. Therefore the borrowers will not be shortchanged with the delay in the reduction of the administrative cost to 1%.

We have received the writer’s request of a full settlement amount for EPF withdrawal on Aug 24, 2010. The request was processed and sent to the writer by mail on Sept 14, 2010.

We thank the writer again for the comments.

The writer is public relations officer, PTPTN .
