Really, I am sick of hearing about the controversy over the book 'Interlok' and the story's use of the ‘p’ word.

To the Malaysian Hindu Sangam (and all Indians protesting the book ‘Interlok’), you are worried about young Indians having low self esteem if they study this book, but please, we Indians are the ones causing low self-esteem amongst ourselves.

For example, why don't we instead ban Indians carrying caste-related surnames? Why is it our temple priests have to be of Brahmin caste?

Why do we have a Brahmin Association of Malaysia - are we condoning a 'superior race'?

Really, let’s not worry too much about us the younger generation - we are fine and don't need people politicising trivial matters.

Instead of making a big fuss around this book, please put in more effort to eradicate caste-consciousness amongst ourselves first.
