EC, biometric a waste, just use birth cert

I think the government is wasting so too of public funds on the biometric system in their so-claimed effort to overcome the problems of phantom voters, which is in my humble opinion was deliberately done to favour the ruling party anyway.

I am non-partisan to any political entity, and have been following the issues of electoral reform, and I suggest that above the eight demands set out by Bersih 2.0, there is no harm in adding one more demand.

As we are all Malaysians voters, we have one more distinct identification document that I believe SPR or even JPN cannot mess with.

Ambiga Sreneevasan should take note of this, why not insist on voters to produce their birth certificate (BC) when they go to cast their votes? Shown together with the MyKad, phantom voters will not be able to cast their votes.

I believe this will stop all the fraudulent practices concerning phantom voters, and SPR cannot refuse this condition.

This will not only save the nation from spending so much money but will deter unscrupulous actions or ill intentions by the EC and the political cronies.

By doing this I think we can have a clean and legitimate election. Let the existing exercise of recruiting the illegals be carried on and let them issue the MyKad or MyPR to whoever they wish but if they cannot produce their BC on polling day they should not be allowed to cast their votes.

From this exercise we can easily identify the genuine citizens and voters of 1Malaysia.
