Charging Mat Sabu while worse threats slip by

It appears that Lady Justice has lost her blindfold or there is a serious warping of values in our country. The police were quick to charge PAS deputy president Mat Sabu with criminal defamation based on police reports and a government-linked newspaper - Utusan 's report - on his speech in relation to a historical event.

Yet there are cases and allegations before the nation which are far more serious in terms of national security and threat to the Agong and his subjects. It is unfortuante that no investigation has been called and no response from the prime minister is forthcoming. Perhaps he is too busy with his new PR campaign of being ‘cool’ and playing games on radio talk shows.

The allegations hurled suggest a sinister plot and a traitor in the government. If this is true, and if ever the ISA should be used based on the lame excuse that it is for national security, then it is now.  It was exposed recently that the former EC chief had arranged for over 60,000 fake ICs to be issued to foreigners.

This means that there are foreigners with questionable backgrounds and intentions roaming around as Malaysian citizens. These so called Malaysian citizens have been given the right to vote and to determine the government of Malaysia.

They have been given the same rights and priveleges as Malaysians born here. No one is saying that the news from Wikileaks is true but there must be investigations into such a serious allegation. The prime minister must come out to allay fears.

These are serious allegations questioning our sovereinty as a nation and yet I see no action from the government of the day. This is worrying and I question the ability of the BN government to ensure our safety and sovereignty. Malaysian security is at risk of being compromised. Don’t fiddle about while our nation is burning!
