While waiting for the rain to subside and toggling the screen of the computer, updating myself with all the alternative media updates on GE13, I asked this question - "Why are these phrases ‘Ini Kalilah, Ubah & Tukar' seem to be spreading like a forest fire?"

From all the social media postings, blogging, alternative media articles, interviews, ceramah, coffee shop talk and office buzz, one can sense that the fundamental moving factor is FRUSTRATION.

It would appear that this deep-rooted feeling is shared amongst the majority of Malaysians, albeit ‘cautiously' taking the lead from both Najib's and Anwar's "cautious optimism" on winning the GE13.

The fact remains that this time around, a larger population never seen before, holds this feeling of vexation.

There is high expectation and excitement amongst this larger population come GE13.

Would these Malaysians form the majority that will remove the current ineffective government, an administration supposedly for the people, whose establishment for and by their cronies is unquestionable? The truth will slowly trickle in after 5pm on Sunday 5.5.13.

The irony facing politicians and their parties is, the future looks bright for the rakyat.

The Malaysian majority has shown signs of maturity, a level of maturity that will grow and will show the rakyat as power brokers.

The reverse was the norm in our beloved country for the past 56 years. The politicians and their parties did the power broking in the past, using the rakyat as their pawns.

This was blatantly done by the manipulation of issues surrounding race, religion, economics and numerous socio-political facets. This was the ammunition that those ‘in charge' used to dictate the outcome of civil order.

And I also do not deny that the statement above is true to both sides of the political divide. However one side has overdone it and monopolised it for far too long.

It took a chemistry theory which I learnt in school to know that future is brighter for us the rakyat. The Le Chatelier principle tells us when there is a change to the equilibrium, there will be a counteraction.

The equilibrium was disturbed in GE12, and from then on there were some positive counteractions. Suffice to say this does not include Birkin bags, diamond rings, condo-ed cows or petroleum wells.

I would dare say the ‘Aku Janji' manifesto would not have been born a few weeks ago if not for GE12, but I dare say I would expect the Buku Jingga to deliver. And perhaps an even better ‘Aku Janji 2' awaits us in GE14. Both side of the divide have a tough act to follow.

Who cares about race and religion, we the rakyat have lived peacefully so far and now we are only reminded of race and religion by the politicians and extremist who are aligned to them. We the rakyat only care for a better social-economic climate in a heavenly safe cocoon, devoid of foreign influences.

In GE12, the equilibrium was only slightly disturbed. So why don't we change the state of the equilibrium in GE13 and see what the counteractions would be?

And who says we can't go back to the same equilibrium or to another state of equilibrium if things don't pan out over the next five years?

Ultimately, let us be the kingmakers, let us support, demand and push for a better climate for us the generation of change.

Let's get these Yang Berhormats to be Yang Berkhidmats.
