If a government can ban slimming drugs which may be harmful to some people, if they can ban foreign magazines and movies deemed indecent, if they can ban political ceramah (public talks), why on earth can't they ban tobacco sales when there is ample evidence to prove the damages smoking can cause to smokers and secondary smokers' health?

Do we need the 'blood money' (i.e. the tax on tobacco) for the nation's growth? Do we need to get the people sick only to treat them with the tax money? It just doesn't make any sense.

For years cigarette packages have had the label "smoking is injurious to health" to warn smokers about the danger to their health if they smoke but it hasn't reduced cigarette sales. The ban on cigarette advertisements will have the same effect and not reduce the number of smokers. We will just see more and more lung cancer patients.
