Justice S Augustine Paul's decision to grant bail to retired lawyer Balwant Singh charged with murder is incomprehensible and disgusting, notwithstanding that the accused is aged and infirm.

It also shows his predisposition in judging the case with his ruling, as reported by Bernama , "that the prosecution failed to show that there were reasonable grounds for believing that the 81-year-old lawyer committed the offence that he had been charged with".

Justice Paul should leave it to the trial proper before even making such a ruling. One can only wait for the trial to commence to see if justice is done and seen to be done.

Until that day, its another nail in a long line of nails in the coffin of justice in Malaysia.
