ISA threat against education critics a big joke

The Internal Security Act (ISA) is supposed to be used against terrorists, but it has now been extended to educators and educationists who merely hold different professional opinions from Umno. Isn't it the greatest joke in the 'global war against terror'?

Maybe, Malaysia will soon declare that students failing English tests in primary schools will also be detained under the Internal Security Act for 'rehabilitation' (something which Human Rights Commission of Malaysia recommended recently for ISA detainees). Or, government servants who do not read an English book a month would also be considered a threat to national security.

Logically, those parents who insist on teaching their children Science and Mathematics in non-English languages at home will also be arrested for posing a 'threat' to 'national security'. Maybe, Malay, Chinese or Tamil textbooks on Science and Mathematics will be banned under the Printing Presses and Publications Act (PPPA).

The United States do not really need enemies if it has friends like Umno and Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Similarly, if the English language has promoters like Umno and Mahathir, it needs no detractors.
