The question Malaysians must address is whether the performance of the Barisan Nasional government over the last 45 years has been up to the mark. If it has, we as responsible citizens must continue to support it and once again vote it in when the next general election comes.
It is often enough said that the people of a country gets the government it deserves. For it is the people who decide whom it wants to govern the country. If the government the people voted in is good, not so good or even bad, at the end of the day, we only have ourselves to praise or blame.
Similarly, what a country has achieved or failed to achieve over time is not solely due to the government in charge alone but the greater good portion of it is due to the people themselves. So, when we give thanks, we give thanks to the country as a whole maybe what we the people can realistically expect and must ensure at the next election, is that the present BN must be told that it has to improve. To get this message across, the first step we can take is to have its present massive majority reduced. So let's use our votes wisely.
Happy Merdeka.
