I am perturbed to note that my letter
appears to have upset a certain group.Basically, we are all Malaysians and this is our land forever. Certainly the ruling coalition has made great strides in the country's magnificent progress, in an era of relative peace and harmony. The majority of Malaysians, I'm sure, greatly appreciate the pleasures and simple joys of just
day-to-day living here, great food 24 hours, friendly people, varied cultures, etc; the simple joys of living harmoniously in a firmly multiracial and multicultural world.
We have much to thank Barisan Nasional for. Otherwise why would the people have voted them back in, every general election?
That said, the urge to improve what one already loves, is just being human. one never stays satisfied with the merely good, but strives to make it better.
My remarks, I hope, will be seen in that light. They were never intended to offend anyone, but were merely an expression of the desire to improve the lot of all Malaysians.
