To date, malaysiakini has published three stories on the "experiences" of an ISA detainee. Malaysiakini has to be more careful in selecting the articles it wishes to publish.

To me, these articles seem more like sensationalism on your part. Moreover, it scares the uninformed who might actually think that all this is true.

You are helping to create illusionary super forces that in reality do not exist. Even DAP chief Lim Kit Siang believes this and he is supposed to have more intelligence than the average person.

Examples where malaysiakini has failed:

1) Did your writer ever question why the so-called Federal Investigation Team (FIT) were revealing all these details to the detainee? one of the most closely guarded secrets of any secret agency is the method used to obtain information. But apparently, these guys are telling and bragging to the detainee their secret methods and also of their accomplishments.

Ever heard of the CIA and MI5 doing this? And the only thing not possible with the FIT seemingly is the ability to fly like Superman. If something is too good to be true it always isn't.

It seems as though you are making up extraordinary unverifiable stories - same ones that people use to scare their children or someone into doing or not doing something?

2) Do you actually think a satellite audio transmitter can fit into a pen?

Have you ever seen a satellite transmitter or receiver? The antenna itself is bigger than a pen, not including the power pack needed to transmit. As an electrical engineer I know that this is not possible.

3) They boasted the ability to decide who becomes the prime minister. We've only had four prime ministers so far. If the late Abdul Razak Hussein had actually created the FIT, this would mean that his successor Hussein Onn was " cantas " (removed) by the FIT as Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who replaced Hussein, was around at that time. How much of this do you believe?

I can cite so many more ridiculous statements. It is embarrassing that malaysiakini would actually publish these stories without thinking or questioning the logic and truth of the allegations, almost like a tabloid paper. Do not lose your credibility or you will lose support.

Editor's note: While some of the claims ISA detainee Saari Sungib quoted of the police indeed seem fantastical and "ridiculous", malaysiakini's intention in publishing excerpts of his report is to highlight police interrogation methods to which an ISA detainee was subjected. Much of the police interrogation over a period of 54 days centred on issues which were unrelated to the original accusation against Saari - that he was part of a militant attempt to overthrow the government.
