I disagree with QG Rozario's opinion ( Tired of mkini's anti-Mahathir rhetoric ). Malaysiakini has been, and continues to be, very open to diverse opinions.
If there's any shortcoming in the items published, perhaps it's because our opinion writers have not been original and creative lately. Our country needs malaysiakini , because much of our media is unnecessarily controlled by the government. I know this is an oft-repeated fact but I think it's worth repeating.
I am not tired of your so-called "anti-Mahathir rhetoric", if there's one. I am not tired of your "anti-government stance", if there's one. I am tired of the Mahathir-worshipping stance and pro-government stance in the national press.
I continue to read national newspapers, and I will continue to read malaysiakini and other independent news websites. Together, they give me, more or less, a complete picture of news and opinions.
I hope more people will be able to do that. It is time-consuming no doubt, but we have no choice if we want to be well-informed in this country with tightly-controlled press.
Keep up your good work, M'kini!
