I can't help feeling that malaysiakini putting together the two demonstrations, o­ne against the war in Iraq and the other against the treatment of SAR (people's religious schools), is unwise. You are not doing justice to either o­ne. Worse still, your report

mentioned that the peace movement rally was organised by Umno Youth and the rally against a government policy was organised by the opposition PAS.

I do not see the wisdom of putting the two events together. Such reporting leaves a bad taste. Malaysiakini should give prominence and support to the peace rally regardless of who actually initiated the move. You could have even insulted many of the peace movement supporters who participated in showing to the world that we Malaysians are peace-loving people.

Many of the local press and mass media do not highlight the fact that the peace rally was due to Umno Youth's initiative. A respected press like yours should be most circumspect in treating such a mass-based movement.
