I would like to take all of us back to a time when our beloved prime minister defended Astro's existence, and banned the parabolic dishes that were widely used in East Malaysia.
He said Astro was different from those service providers which charged their customers unnecessarily and held their subscribers to ransom.
With the new controversy of the Emperor package, Astro has now fallen into the category of the so-called vulture companies that our prime minister had described.
I would recommend that other satellite service providers be allowed to compete with Astro. Without competition, Astro can do what they like and consumers are left at the company's mercy.
I urge the authorities to allow the use of parabolic dishes where I believe their service are better and don't break down in a heavy downpour like Astro.
