Aaron Sum ( PM, please rethink Iban Bible ban ) stated that "The Bible is the Christian's equivalent of the Quran. I think that statement speaks for itself."

Aaron's "statement" is merely an opinion. The Bible is nothing like the Quran. Throughout history, there has o­nly been o­ne version of the Quran, and it o­nly exists in o­ne language - Arabic. There is no Malay Quran, Mandarin Quran, or English Quran. There are however translations or meanings of the Quran in Malay, English, Mandarin and so o­n. Even then, the original Arabic text is included alongside the translation.

HF ( Why not use Iban word for 'Allah' in Bible translation? ) brought up an interesting point. What is the purpose of using the the word 'Allah Taala' in the Iban Bible? Are those words meant to be deceitful and misleading? Muslims refer to 'Allah Taala' as the o­ne and o­nly God, with no child and not begotten. The term 'Allah Taala' therefore has no relation to the concept of multiple Gods or Trinity, which makes it mind-boggling why the term is used in the Iban Bible.

The Iban Bible could and should use a more appropriate term. After all, the rich animistic Iban culture must surely have its own term for multiple deities.

I strongly agree to the right of o­ne's religion, and the ban o­n the Iban Bible can be regarded as an insult to the Christian community, and Malaysians in general. However, the Iban Bible itself has insulted the Muslims' belief by associating 'Allah Taala' as one of the trinity.
