Cecil Rajendra has hit the nail on the head, but does it matter? Not to the powers-that-be for American public has shown (if the polls are to be believed) that the majority are for George W Bush and his policies.

The UN has legalised the occupation of Iraq (even if it hadn't, it won't have made any difference), so it is only in the realm of the 'spirit world' that we can hold these immoral leaders (yes, in this regard, Saddam's regime is included) accountable for the deaths and sufferings of the innocent Iraqi citizens.

But I think what had transpired in the lead-up to the invasion of Iraq and its aftermath have helped many idealists among us, who used to have such high regards for the American-trumpeted calls of truth and justice, to now see those ideals with a more realistic view.
