When the present administration took office years ago, Malaysians were promised a government that will be clean, efficient and trustworthy.

Now that Pak Lah is to take over the reign in October this year. We hear the same chorus against corruption being replayed.

Till today, politicians from Barisan Nasional are resisting any efforts to declare their assets to the public. If they are really and truly clean, efficient and trustworthy, what are they afraid of? What is there to hide?

If the president of the United States of America can make a public declaration of his assets and income, where is the problem for our BN politicians?

Perhaps, while we are at it, the various BN component parties can enlighten us all as to their source of political funding. It is about time we put an end to 'soft money' in politics.

Would the new administration herald a cleaner, more efficient and more trustworthy government? I doubt it.
