I am always troubled by Dr Mahathir Mohamad's constant deflection of failures onto the people, instead of pointing at himself or his party. Today I see the same attitude in PAS secretary-general Nasharuddin Mat Isa's press conference .

Instead of admitting PAS' mistake, in giving out mixed signals on the Islamic state issue, he blamed the controversy on non-Muslims' misunderstanding and faulty reports in the media.

Wasn't it PAS who first announced the readiness of its Islamic state memorandum? Nasharuddin was one of them who made the claim. Now suddenly he claims that it is "still under study".

I do not think I can support PAS yet, as it has not shown its sincerity by simply not admitting its mistake and fixing its own problem.

May be we should not expect much more from PAS, as they are after all, politicians.

After over two decades of taking blame from so-called 'leaders' for their mistakes, I for one am not about to take it again from any politician.

I have more to say on hudud, the Islamic criminal code, but I will save it for the next time PAS decides to mouth off on the issue.
