Referring to Mohd Kassim Ahmad's letter about the period of Emergency when 'thousands' of Malay Regiment soldiers were killed, I do not think he knows what the British colonialists were up to.

The British created the Malay army to fight the communists because they did not want their soldiers to fight alone - thus reducing their casualty numbers. As more and more Malay soldiers fought the communists, the casualty among Malay soldiers grew. Simply put, the British wanted the Malays to fight the communists who were mostly Chinese.

Look at Iraq now. The Americans are trying to create an Iraqi army as quickly as possible. Why? Because the Iraqi resistance are taking pot-shots at the Americans. To reduce their casualty numbers, the Americans need an Iraqi army to fight the Iraqi resistance fighters - just like what the British did during the Emergency (or the anti-colonial war according to Chin Peng).

Sometime and somewhere in the future, will Mohd Fassim Ahmad come out and blame the Iraqi resistance for killing the Iraqi soldiers?
