I would like to know whether the person who complained that malaysiakini practises bad journalism was trying to get the website to impose a quota.
He said that, while Malays represent 60 per cent of the population, most reports and letters in malaysiakini came from those 'bashing' Malays, so it means that bad journalism is being practised.
Critics should counter any perceived 'Malay-bashing' comments instead of getting the website to leave 60 per cent of the space for them.
Asking for quotas in the quantity of reports of a news site is not practising good journalism. But if you want 60 per cent to be filled up then get the whole 60 per cent to write in or allow their journalists to go to official press conference and functions.
I'm sure they will be willing to write when they are allowed to cover such press conferences. Even meritocracy (getting good quality news) is being eroded by some. When will these attempts ever end?
