I am deeply disappointed with the ageist and racist views of Muhammad Abdullah. As an older Malay, I regret to note that, from his name, the author is probably a Malay too.
We Malays should stop seeing things as Chinese, Indian, Malays, etc. Why can't we just say that this is a view of another Malaysian? Is this not enough? Why continue the racial divide?
And as to the ageist attitude, Muhammad Abdullah should be thankful that out of the thousands of 17-year olds, there is one that is brave and mature enough to stand up and speak.
I think the writer has shown signs of success in education. The rest of the students, unfortunately, are being trained to become ' pak turut '. Muhammad Abdullah should be happy to read the views of this young, yet mature person. Stop being racist and ageist.
