I refer to the recent remark made by the tourism minister on the AirAsia advertisement. His remark shows a lack of analysis and facts.
Since AirAsia has limited routes, he should back his statement with a chart comparing the prices of each route with MAS or other airlines plying the same route. In addition, he should have ascertained the quantum of discount given and the number of such fares. That is basic useful information to us as consumers!
Consumers cannot make an informed choice with shoot from the hip remarks, especially from a full-fledged minister. I do not think the consumers are complaining. If anybody has a real complaint, it should be MAS.
