For anyone schooled in the basic precepts of criminal law, Anwar's trial would surely go down in history books as a charade of the first order.

No right thinking judge exercising his appellate jurisdiction can exonerate the trial judges for what seems to be lapses in upholding the basic cannons of justice as universally taught in law schools.
