Ipoh has become an unlivable place. Tons of garbage can be seen everywhere in the city, and it looks like nobody cares.

As a result of constant rain and wind, a lot these leaves and garbage are blow into the drains, clogging it up. With city council workers nowhere to be seen, the debris in the drains start to emit a foul smell. Supervisors are more interested in their air condition offices than enforcing laws. If Ipoh mayor Sirajuddin Salleh hides himself in his room, please do not expect the city's personnel to leave their office. The slogan 'leaderships by example' is no more valid.

Grass, particularly in First Garden area, is tall and no inspection is done in a regular basis. Markets are full of pot holes. The parks are in terrible condition - branches not trimmed and grass not cut.

Is the mayor waiting for a crime to happen or rape cases to appear? What are the city councillors doing? Are they waiting for something to happen before action is taken? Or are they waiting for an overseas trip to see how to administrate the problems of Ipoh and the collect ' gaji buta ' every month, at the expense of taxpayers.

It is time to bring back the local council election to eliminate inefficient councillors and government officers. The government should break their 'iron bowl' policy so that inefficient officers or workers can be eliminated. In the US, no civil servant is indisposable. Inefficient workers will be sacked or asked to resign. If the mayor is inefficient, he is recalled. Should we recall the mayor of Ipoh of his inefficiency?
