I refer to Communications and Multimedia Minister Ahmad Shabery Cheek’s comments about the ‘I like Israel’ saga.

In my opinion, the police are just wasting their time with the 17-year-old teen who clicked on ‘I love Israel’ on his Facebook.

Frankly, what’s wrong with that and why should the police be wasting their time and troubling  a young person who is probably sitting for his Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) this year?

The message that the police is sending to us is: Don't they have better things to do just because ‘some people are angry’? Why don’t they just focus on reducing crime rate in the country?

Malaysians at large have got their emotions all mixed up over a small matter. There is a huge difference between the Zionist regime and Israel as a nation that had existed since the days of the Old Testament. The name Israel is mentioned all over the Bible. Israel was looked upon by even rulers in the world, especially during the King Solomon era.

It may be unfortunate that today, Israel is under the Zionist regime, but that does not necessarily mean that we have to hate everything ‘Jewish’ or even the mention of Israel. Till this day, there are many Christians who still go on pilgrimage to Israel in the same way Muslims go to Mecca for the haj. Correct me, Muslims, as far as I know, also have a holy site in Israel.

Jews have contributed substantially to the modern world in many ways. Why bother banning anything that is considered ‘Jewish’? Going by the same argument forwarded by anti-Zionist lobby groups, Facebook should also be banned since it was created by a Jew, Mark Zuckerberg.

We should also ban any teaching of E=MC2 because Albert Einstein was also a Jew. Perhaps, books with the mention of Einstein’s name should have those pages ripped off. Instead, we should glorify Adolf Hitler the way Kinabatangan MP, Bung Moktar Radin did because he martyred many Jews during the last world war.

The recent campaign against McDonald’s and other companies with links back to Israel is done with a smack of suspicion. McDonald’s, as we know it, is a franchise and any actions against it will only bring repercussions on fellow Malaysians. What has that to do with the Zionists? How would it impact on the Zionist regime as a whole? All I can see is our fellow Malaysians are feeling the heat themselves.

‘Where is Malaysia anyway?’

I can say those Zionists will be just be laughing: Where is Malaysia anyway? Are these people still living on trees? How will their ban on McDonald’s affect us?

Yes, while I am against the atrocities caused by the Zionist government, I am not against Israel as a whole. In fact, I love Israel the same way I love Dubai, if I have the money to visit these places.

At the same time, I condemn the suicide bombers - including the faction known as Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) - from the other side, who are equally cruel with their cold killing and treatment against the innocent women and children.

The fact is BOTH are involved in a war where the innocents are being sacrificed. Even in the war between the terrorists in Mindanao and the Filipino army in the Philippines, Malaysian and other tourists become the victim. The shooting down of MH17 is also the result of a war that is going on between Russian separatists and the Ukrainian government. Which war do we not see atrocities?

If the teen ‘Kelvin Yip’ is charged with sedition for clicking on ‘I Like Israel’, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak should also be facing the same music for singing the praises of ISIS. My suggestion is to just put a stop to such insanity and not allow the bigots to have their way around. Bring back some sanity to our society.
